Jen Nuessen
How long have you been working for BTTS and what is your role?
My glorious journey at BTTS first began in July of 2020. Gas was $2.09 per gallon, The Lorax was the top streamed movie on Netflix, and the world was struggling to survive while living 6 feet apart, disguised in masks. Gourmet Fresh welcomed me with open arms and while I’ve spent the last four years bouncing from seat to seat on this crazy BTTS bus, my heart and fate returned me to the wonderful world of catering as your Director of Catering Services.
What is your favorite thing about your job?
It’s a blessing to interact with all the amazingly talented coworkers I have at BTTS. Working remotely from Kansas City can feel isolating but every time my phone rings from a coworker it’s like Cbus has reached out for a high five!
What does BTTS mean to you?
In a word… Serendipitous. I’m grateful to have discovered a company who celebrates unique personalities, who searches for people with shared values, who seeks opportunities that allow us all to grow.
What is something that most people might not know about you?
I’m a gold medal Inflatabist! That’s someone who competes in athletic competitions while wearing an inflatable costume. My competitive alter ego is Peppy Porker. There’s nothing like crossing the finish line in an inflatable. It’s like being hugged by a pillow of winning. My favorites are the Tough Mudder races, for obvious reasons, OINK!
If you could have any superpower, what would you choose?
All of them while wearing an inflatable pig outfit and cape! Why limit myself?
What do you recommend? (anything!)
I strongly recommend joking around with coworkers.
